I believe we were born with a natural and instinctive awareness of ourselves.
I mean we were born with a natural connection with our souls.
It is instinctive to relate to your self with understanding and compassion.
It is natural to talk to your self, hear your self, notice your blink, your breath, your body language and understand them all.
I am not sure. Maybe this is clearer or easier for introverts (check my last post- it is in Arabic). May be not.
It gets stronger the more we obey or follow it.
It is beautiful when you feel you are aware of how you think, what you feel and what you do.
Observing yourself helps you understand your thoughts and your feelings.
This is an strong foundation to make good decisions (accompanied with knowledge and values)
But if you feel like this does not ring a bell for you... or if you feel like it sounds too old.... then what?
I am sure one can re-connect with the self.
As I said, it is natural, spontaneous and instinctive.
Now...
The question is how?
You can start with a few simple actions.
1. Spend some time alone: if you are not used to this or if you find it very (very) boring then make it exciting. Practice your favorite hobby alone. Go for a short walk alone. Do not over do it if you do not like it. But just give it a try.
2. Start enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Whether it is eating something really yummy, wearing warm clothes after a hot shower, soaking your feet in hot water, combing your hair with love, watching sunrise or sunset, .... etc. The list is long. Start feeling and enjoying these simple things that happen every day.
3. Write in your journal: even if it is a line. Write something. If you do not like writing daily, you do not have to. Write when you feel like there is something you want to say. Write to yourself. Read for yourself.
4. Obey your inner voice: It does not have to sound logical or realistic. Follow your intuition. Believe in it. The more you follow it the stronger it becomes. Believe it.
I hope these tips help.
Your connection to yourself can be very rewarding and truly beautiful.
You spend all your time with yourself. Why to be disconnected ? or not close friends?
Befriend your self.
For me, my connection with myself is central to a happy balanced life.
I truly love and cherish my voice.
I am my best friend
With all love, I say "see you later" with a new post ... some time soon :)
