Food has taught me a lot.
You can feed your soul with your food, not only your body.
Food is a bliss. It's an abundant source for energy, love and beauty.
When I say food, I mean all that has to do with it too.
Consider this list:
- Smell: Before you see your food, you smell it... you know it is coming. The smell can say a lot about the course and take you into a whole different state from the one you were in. Food aroma is a pleasure by itself
- Arrangement: the design, styling ... call it what you like. It's basically how the food is presented to allow it express itself fully. There are those dishes that are happy, quiet, intense, seductive, hippy and much more. The presentation can say a lot.
- The taste: taste it... don't go into it unless you test it. You allow your senses to feel each ingredient. Being present and aware when you are having your first bite is .... mmmmm.... mesmerizing. This is true, in deed, regardless of the taste of your course. It's about being present. The content of the moment does not really matter much
Cooking
I discovered my passion for food when I started cooking myself. That was at a really early age - maybe 12 when my mom has left us to visit her parents in Lebanon for 10 days. Who would cook? Yasmeen of course :)
When I first went to France for my studies, I experienced cooking more often. I fell in love with it. I fell in love with the whole process from picking what to cook, to buying the ingredients to eventually sitting and eating my meal. Mmmmmm.... great days.
Soul food is real food
My passion for food has affected how I see restaurants and what I order. Junk food is not an option ... well... except in really rare cases. I think I eat fast food 3 or 4 times a year, when I long for my childhood days :)
In November 2014, I was #wwoofing on farms in Colombia. It was a remarkable experience where I got in touch with virgin nature. I experienced abundance and beauty in a truly amazing form. On the 2nd farm, the crops were various. I loved the berries the most. I had my first fresh egg- taken just a sec ago from beneath the hens. I had fresh milk and cheese too.
Wow real food. Soul food
